Israel Cruz, an 18-year-old resident of Reedley, California, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2018. Cruz was shot multiple times in the upper body while crossing the intersection of Parlier and Frankwood avenues around 9:30 p.m. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries two days later, on July 6, 2018. The incident occurred amidst the Independence Day celebrations, adding a somber note to the festivities in the community.
