Juan Ruben Cuevas, a 26-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on January 9, 2019, near Beverly Boulevard and North Saint Andrews Place in the Larchmont area of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records, the incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to a call of a shooting in the area.
Upon arrival, they were directed inside a liquor store where Cuevas had gone to seek help after being shot. Despite being rushed to a hospital, Cuevas was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m.
The investigation revealed that Cuevas was on the sidewalk when an unidentified person approached him and opened fire. After being shot, Cuevas managed to enter the liquor store, where he collapsed.
