Gregory Donald Galusha, a 44-year-old resident of Oak Run, California, tragically lost his life on February 7, 2019. The incident occurred at his home on Stagecoach Road, where he was confronted by his neighbor, Joseph Edward Roza. According to reports, Roza entered Galusha's home and fired a semi-automatic pistol at the wall above Galusha's head. Following this, Roza attacked Galusha with a wooden sword-like stick. In an attempt to escape, Galusha ran out of his house and down the driveway, but Roza pursued him and ultimately shot him in the back, leaving him face-down in the dirt. Galusha was declared dead at the scene.
The aftermath of the incident saw Roza hiding from law enforcement for several days before turning himself in to the authorities. He confessed to the killing, leading to his arrest and subsequent legal proceedings. The case faced several complications, including delays due to courtroom unavailability and the absence of key witnesses.
