On June 27, 2019, during a citywide sweep that resulted in 18 arrests for various charges, the CPD arrested Miguel Becerra at a residence on Sonoma Way. Amber Williams, 37, who was present at the residence, was also arrested for obstruction and battery on a peace officer. A firearm was found at the residence, but it was not believed to be the weapon used in the homicide.
