Rashied Flowers, a 26-year-old resident of Fairfield, California, tragically lost his life on July 24, 2019. The incident occurred at a suburban house in the Vintage Green Valley neighborhood of Fairfield. Initially, three witnesses brought Flowers to a local hospital, claiming he had been shot at a park in Cordelia. However, a subsequent investigation by the Fairfield Police Department revealed that the shooting actually took place at the house in Fairfield.
The police obtained a search warrant for the residence and found evidence pointing to George Harris, also known as Lul G, a Vallejo rapper and former member of the rap group SOB x RBE, as the suspect.
George Harris was arrested on September 21, 2019, in Clark County, Nevada, after an FBI Criminal Apprehension Team located him at a Holiday Inn Express in Las Vegas. Harris was charged with first-degree murder for his role in the fatal shooting of Rashied Flowers. According to investigators, Harris and others had gathered at Flowers' home, possibly to shoot a music video. Witnesses reported that the men began gambling, with Harris losing money to Flowers. An altercation ensued, during which Harris allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Flowers once in the abdomen. Flowers was then driven to the hospital by a witness, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The legal proceedings against Harris culminated in a plea deal. On March 2, 2023, Harris pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter, avoiding the potential sentence of 25 years to life for first-degree murder. Instead, he was sentenced to 21 years in state prison. The plea deal also included an admission of the personal use of a firearm during the shooting, which added an enhancement to his sentence.
