Michael J. Lertzman, a 19-year-old college student, tragically lost his life on September 11, 2019, in a murder-suicide incident in Northridge, Los Angeles. The incident occurred at the family home on Vanalden Avenue, where Michael was fatally shot by his father, Eric Lertzman, who was a Deputy City Attorney for Los Angeles.
