Joshua Mena, aged 39, tragically lost his life on July 26, 2020, in Burbank, California. The incident occurred at a Gulf gas station located at 8458 S. Cicero Avenue. On that fateful night, officers responded to a call of shots fired around 10:49 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Mena in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, which had crashed into a nearby building.
Mena had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was immediately transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
The investigation quickly identified Andrew Elam, an 18-year-old from Hometown, as the primary suspect. Elam was charged with one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
