On the night of November 1, 2020, Micah and his friend Joseph Ash were hosting a party at Ash's apartment. The event was advertised on social media, attracting a large number of attendees. During the party, a friend of Andrew Granderson, one of the attendees, was robbed of his jewelry by unknown individuals. This incident set off a chain of events that led to the fatal shooting.
After being informed of the robbery, Granderson decided to return to the party. Upon his arrival, he knocked on the door, and when Micah and Joseph answered, Granderson opened fire, killing both young men instantly.
