Adrian Balleza, a 29-year-old resident of Gilroy, California, tragically lost his life on May 26, 2021, during a mass shooting at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light rail facility in San Jose. Balleza, who worked as a maintenance worker and light rail operator, was among nine victims killed by a gunman who opened fire at the facility. The incident has been described as one of the deadliest workplace shootings in the history of the Bay Area.
