On June 1, 2021, Herminio Rio, a 43-year-old resident of Fresno, California, was found unresponsive and bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds in an industrial area near Van Ness and California Avenues. The Fresno Police Department received a call from a passing driver around 5:30 a.m., alerting them to Rio's condition.
