On June 22, 2021, Jose Sosa, a 44-year-old resident of Coachella, was fatally shot in Palm Springs, California. The incident occurred after Jeffrey Burgess, a 43-year-old man from Sky Valley, received a notification from his surveillance camera showing a shirtless man spraying his camera with a garden hose.
