Valentin Flores Castaneda, a 40-year-old resident of Lost Hills, California, was found dead on June 27, 2021. His body was discovered by a supervisor in an orchard near an aqueduct just east of Truman Avenue and Resource Street. Castaneda's chest and face were covered in blood, and he had been shot. The discovery of his body prompted an immediate investigation by the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
