Greg Cirimele, a 42-year-old resident of Campbell, California, tragically lost his life on November 2, 2021, following a violent confrontation on West Sunnyoaks Avenue. The incident began when Cirimele, who was walking, waved down a passing vehicle driven by 18-year-old Nickolas James Ammann. According to eyewitness accounts, Cirimele approached the driver's side of Ammann's car and began throwing punches through the window.
In response, Ammann fired multiple shots, hitting Cirimele twice in the chest. Cirimele succumbed to his injuries approximately 45 minutes later at Valley Medical Center.
The altercation reportedly started because Cirimele was yelling at Ammann to slow down while driving. This confrontation escalated quickly, leading to the fatal shooting.
