On July 6, 2022, Abraham Talamantes, a 32-year-old resident of Phelan, California, was found unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound at an illegal marijuana cultivation site on Sandstone Road. Despite the life-saving efforts of deputies and emergency medical personnel, Talamantes was pronounced dead at the scene.
