Jeremy Snowden, a 30-year-old resident of Apple Valley, California, was reported missing by his family in late August 2022. His disappearance prompted an investigation by deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station. On August 29, 2022, at approximately 6 a.m., deputies discovered Snowden's body near an abandoned building in the 200 block of George Boulevard in Victorville. The location is within the property of the Southern California Logistics Airport and the shuttered George Air Force Base, about eight miles west of Apple Valley. Snowden had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, indicating a violent end to his life.
The investigation into Snowden's death was taken over by the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division - Homicide Detail. Detectives quickly identified a suspect in the case, a 16-year-old boy. An arrest warrant was obtained, and on August 31, 2022, sheriff’s homicide detectives, along with the Gang Intelligence Team, arrested the teen suspect in Apple Valley. The suspect was subsequently booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center in Apple Valley on suspicion of the fatal shooting. The relationship between Snowden and the teen suspect, if any, has not been disclosed by the authorities. The investigation remains ongoing, with the Sheriff’s Department urging anyone with information to come forward.
In the aftermath of Snowden's death, his family expressed their grief and loss. A GoFundMe account titled “Family expenses for Jeremy Snowden” was created by his sister, Valerie, who described her brother as having a beautiful soul whose smile and eyes brought happiness to everyone who knew him. Snowden is survived by his three children: Adrian, age 12; Rosie, age 7; and Alex, age 5. The community has been urged to provide any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation, highlighting the tragic and unresolved nature of this case.
