Jesse Esparza, a 27-year-old father, was tragically killed on October 13, 1999, at his home in Spring Valley Lake, Victorville, California. On that day, Esparza was home caring for his three young children when someone knocked on the door. Upon answering the door, he was shot and killed. His children were present during this shocking incident, which added a particularly heartbreaking element to the tragedy.
