On November 27, 1900, Constable Mathew Wilson of the Cobleskill Police Department in New York was tragically killed in the line of duty. Wilson was patrolling the streets of Cobleskill when he encountered a group of burglars attempting to rob a bank at the corner of West Main Street and Union Street.
