Dr. Barnett Abba Slepian, a 52-year-old physician and abortion provider, was tragically assassinated on October 23, 1998, in his home in Amherst, New York. Dr. Slepian had just returned from a synagogue memorial service for his father and was preparing soup in his kitchen when a bullet fired through his window struck him.
