Jennifer Mejia, a 17-year-old high school student from East Patchogue, New York, tragically lost her life on June 19, 2011, during a robbery at Haven Drugs pharmacy in Medford. Mejia, who worked as a clerk at the pharmacy, was one of four victims in this horrific incident. The robbery occurred on Father's Day, and the assailant, David Laffer, entered the pharmacy with the intent to steal prescription painkillers.
