Arthur Lopez, a 29-year-old police officer with the Nassau County Police Department, tragically lost his life on October 23, 2012, during a routine traffic stop that turned deadly. Officer Lopez and his partner were on duty near the border of Nassau County and New York City when they observed a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident.
