Jason L. Oates, a 32-year-old resident of Rome, NY, tragically lost his life on March 28, 2013. On that fateful day, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the rear parking lot area of the Rome YMCA, located at 301 W. Bloomfield Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Oates, who had sustained fatal injuries from gunfire.
