On July 16, 2015, 17-year-old Ortez Williams was fatally shot in New Orleans East. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of Tara Lane, where officers found Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
