In the autumn of 2014, the small community of Shelby, New York, was struck by an unexpected loss with the passing of Jacob Alan Stahl. A 15-year-old male, he died on Friday, October 17, 2014. Born on November 4, 1998, Jacob was a tenth-grade student at Medina Central School, where he was known to have recently taken up lacrosse. His sudden death left his family and friends in a state of shock and mourning.
