On October 5, 2015, Gomez Hurd, a 31-year-old resident of New Cassel, Westbury, NY, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred at approximately 6:16 p.m. in front of 994 Prospect Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found Hurd suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:42 p.m. by medical personnel.
