On a summer evening in Dunkirk, New York, the life of 21-year-old Julian Duman was cut short by a single gunshot. The fatal incident occurred on July 6, 2017, at a residence on Lake Shore Drive East. When Dunkirk Police officers arrived at the scene around 10 p.m., they discovered Duman lying unresponsive in the yard. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The immediate investigation led to the arrest of Duman's 28-year-old girlfriend, Rebecca Ruiz. ...
