Jean Carlos-Rentas, a 28-year-old resident of Cleveland, Ohio, was found dead on August 13, 2019, along Route 96 in Phelps, New York. His body was discovered by a passing motorist around 10:30 p.m. that evening. The Ontario County Sheriff's Office quickly identified the death as a homicide, revealing that Rentas had been shot in the head.
