Mtundu Vanterpool, aged 43, tragically lost his life on August 16, 2019, in Southampton, NY. The incident occurred on the Shinnecock Reservation, where Vanterpool resided. On the day of his death, Vanterpool was attacked at a gas station in Holtsville by Michael Gaines, who later fled the scene. Vanterpool returned home and went to sleep next to his fiancé.
