Lee Pedersen, a 69-year-old resident of Aquebogue, NY, was found dead on March 9, 2020, in his home. The discovery was made by Riverhead Town police during a welfare check. Pedersen had suffered a fatal gunshot wound, and the absence of a weapon at the scene, along with no signs of forced entry, led investigators to conclude that his death was a murder.
