In the early hours of July 24, 2020, a violent encounter in Johnson City, New York, tragically ended the life of 27-year-old Omar Terry. The incident unfolded in a car on the Route 17 exit ramp, where Terry was both shot and stabbed multiple times. The vehicle subsequently crashed off the exit ramp.
Law enforcement officials quickly identified a suspect, 25-year-old Brandon Rose of Endicott, who was reportedly a 'good acquaintance' of Terry.
Rose was discovered hiding in the brush in a wooded area behind a nearby store and was taken into custody.
Following an investigation, a Broome County Grand Jury handed up a nine-count indictment against Rose in late August 2020. The charges included second-degree murder, multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. The indictment alleged that Rose was in possession of approximately 791 methamphetamine tablets with the intent to sell them. The additional charges against Rose included reckless endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
