Sherard Jamie McKoy, an 18-year-old college student from Brooklyn, NY, was tragically killed on October 28, 2020. McKoy was inside the Rayen Lite Deli at the corner of New Lots and Alabama Avenues in East New York when a gunman entered and opened fire. The shooting occurred around 6:10 p.m., and McKoy was struck in the chest. Despite being rushed to Brookdale University Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
