In the late summer of 2021, a burst of violence shattered the evening calm at a popular Buffalo park, leaving a young father dead and a family searching for answers. Joel Northrup, a 26-year-old male from Kenmore, New York, was shot and killed on the evening of August 30, 2021, at the Delaware Park basketball courts. The incident, which police described as a 'targeted' killing, occurred while a large crowd was present at the courts.
