In the quiet of a New Orleans evening on January 5, 2017, the life of 24-year-old Darkyus Raymond, a Black male, was tragically cut short. The St. Roch neighborhood became the backdrop for a grim event when Raymond and another individual were targeted in a double shooting. The incident unfolded in the 1400 block of Spain Street, a residential area that was suddenly shattered by the sound of gunfire.
