Daniella Marie Patterson, a 35-year-old mother, tragically lost her life on December 10, 2022, in Niagara Falls, New York. She was fatally shot while sitting defenseless in a car on the 400 block of 9th Street. The incident unfolded when a man approached the vehicle and opened fire at close range, continuing to shoot as the car attempted to drive away.
The investigation led by the Niagara Falls Police Department resulted in the arrest of Marchello M.
Gildersleeve, who was 43 years old at the time. Gildersleeve was subsequently charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection with Patterson's death.
In June 2024, a Niagara County jury found Marchello M. Gildersleeve guilty of the charges against him. The prosecution presented compelling evidence that led to his conviction for the cold-blooded killing. In September 2024, Gildersleeve was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of Daniella Marie Patterson, bringing a measure of justice to her family.
