In the spring of 2011, the life of a young man from Laurel, Maryland, was cut short in a burst of violence. On the afternoon of Thursday, May 5, 2011, 26-year-old Marcus Anthony Simms was in the 7700 block of Penbrook Place in Landover when he was shot.
