Kelly Lorraine Shortt-Hamilton, aged 27, tragically died on August 10, 2015, in Knoxville, Maryland. Her death was the result of a murder-suicide involving her estranged husband, Daniel Ray Shortt Sr., aged 44. The incident began with a fire at Shortt-Hamilton's apartment building in Brunswick, Maryland, which authorities believe was deliberately set by Daniel Shortt. Witnesses reported seeing Daniel pulling Kelly from her apartment just before the building burst into flames.
