Karlyn Serane Ramirez, a 24-year-old Army specialist stationed at Fort Meade, was found dead in her Severn, Maryland home on August 25, 2015. Her body was discovered by police after a neighbor noticed an unsecured door and called for help. Ramirez had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and her 5-month-old infant was found unharmed beside her. The autopsy confirmed that she died from gunshot wounds, and the investigation quickly turned into a homicide case.
