In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Baltimore, on September 13, 2015, the life of 34-year-old Troy Edward Mitter, a male college student and tattoo artist, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded at a gas station located at the intersection of 25th Street and Harford Road.
Officers responded to a call for a shooting at approximately 4 a.m. in the 2300 block of Harford Road. Upon arrival, they discovered two men inside a red Pontiac Grand Am who had been shot.
Troy Mitter had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. A second individual, a 53-year-old man, was also found in the vehicle with a gunshot wound to his arm.
According to his mother, Troy was working as a tattoo artist to earn extra money for his family while attending college. The family of Troy Edward Midder has expressed their hope that someone with information will come forward to shed light on the circumstances of his death.
As of now, the case remains unsolved. There have been no public announcements regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in the killing of Troy Mitter. Law enforcement has appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation. Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland has offered a reward of up to $2,000 for information pertaining to the murder.
