In the winter of 2017, tragedy struck a Baton Rouge community when Thomas Snowden, a 45-year-old male, was found deceased in his residence. The grim discovery was made on a Monday evening, December 18th, inside his home located in the 3000 block of Clayton Drive, an area near Plank Road. Authorities were called to the scene around 8:20 p.m. to investigate the incident.
Upon their arrival, officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department found Snowden had been the victim of a fatal
shooting. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death began immediately. Detectives working the case soon came to believe that the motive for the violent act was robbery. Despite the active investigation and a plea to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case, authorities reported that there were no known suspects in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. The investigation was handed over to the Violent Crimes Unit, who urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing those responsible to justice.
