In the late summer of 2017, the quiet community of Boonsboro, Maryland, was unsettled by a grim discovery. The body of a man, later identified as 53-year-old Robert Earl 'Mitch' Mitchell Jr., was found in a cornfield off Fahrney Church Road on the morning of August 25th. A resident of West Virginia, Mitchell had been reported missing from his Berkeley County home just hours before his body was located. The investigation into his untimely death would soon reveal a violent end to his life.
