Hayleen Fernandez Reyes, a 41-year-old woman from Aberdeen, Maryland, tragically lost her life on September 20, 2018, in a mass shooting at the Rite Aid Distribution Center in Aberdeen. Reyes, originally from the Dominican Republic, had moved to the United States less than a year before her death in hopes of creating a better life for her young daughter^1^. She was one of three victims killed when Snochia Moseley, a 26-year-old employee, opened fire inside the facility^1^.
