In the early morning hours of a September day, Brindra Giri, a 41-year-old woman from Nepal, was at her new job at a Rite Aid distribution center in Aberdeen, Maryland, working to build a better life for her family. Having moved to the United States only five months prior, she had recently started this job to become a part of her new community and provide for her two children and husband. Despite some family members' reservations, she was determined to contribute to her family's future.
