David Martin Caldwell, aged 52, tragically lost his life on July 15, 2019, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a phlebotomist working at the Man Alive Methadone Clinic on Maryland Avenue when he was fatally shot during a violent incident. The shooter, identified as 49-year-old Ashanti Pinkney, entered the clinic and opened fire, resulting in the death of Caldwell and the injury of a Baltimore police sergeant, Billy Shiflett. Pinkney was also killed in the exchange of gunfire with the police.
