Buford's body was discovered early Monday when police and firefighters responded to a north Birmingham apartment complex on a report of a dumpster fire. When they arrived, they found her burning body just outside a small apartment complex called the 1206 & 1208 on 10th Avenue North.
Neighbors spotted the flames, and then discovered the body next to the dumpster. Authorities said Buford was discovered at 12:14 a.m. and pronounced dead on the scene at 12:19 a.m.
