In the winter of 2020, the life of 16-year-old Nicholas 'Nick' Buckland was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in South Baltimore. A junior at North County High School, the male teenager was known for his love of bicycles and his ability to make people laugh. Friends and family remembered him as a person who was always there for others.
On the night of December 7, 2020, just before midnight, Nicholas was shot.
He was rushed to a shock trauma center, but tragically succumbed to his injuries on December 8, 2020. In the wake of his death, those who knew and loved him gathered for a memorial near the location of the shooting to honor his memory.
The Baltimore Police Department opened an investigation into the shooting, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of those responsible. At the time of the initial reports, the investigation was ongoing.
