In the winter of 2020, a young life was violently cut short on the streets of Baltimore. James Simms, a 21-year-old Black man, was fatally shot on the evening of December 28th. The incident occurred around 9:06 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Smallwood Street, leaving a community in mourning and a family grappling with a senseless loss.
