In the early morning hours of Father's Day, June 19, 2022, the life of Trevor White, a 40-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. Just hours after celebrating Black culture and entrepreneurship at Baltimore's AFRAM Festival, White was found with multiple gunshot wounds outside his home on Lakeside Avenue in the Ednor Gardens-Lakeside neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore.
Responding officers discovered him unresponsive at approximately 4:06 a.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
White was a prominent and beloved figure in his community, known for his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to uplifting Baltimore. He was the co-owner of RYMKS Bar & Grille, a popular soul food restaurant in Little Italy, and also owned a tax service, VBS Tax and Accounting. His commitment to the city was further demonstrated through his role as a director for Rebuild Metro, a nonprofit organization focused on providing affordable housing. A devoted husband, father, and fraternity brother of Phi Beta Sigma, his sudden and violent death sent shockwaves of grief through the many lives he had touched.
The investigation into Trevor White's murder was launched immediately by the Baltimore Police Department, but has since grown cold, leaving a family and community searching for answers. His death was one of six homicides in what was a particularly violent weekend in the city. Despite public pleas for information from law enforcement and White's grieving family, no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been made in connection with his killing.
In an effort to generate new leads, a substantial reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction has been offered by Metro Crime Stoppers, with the total amount growing significantly due to private contributions. White's family continues to advocate for justice, remembering him as a source of strength and a passionate individual whose energy left a lasting impact. They remain hopeful that someone will come forward with the information needed to bring his killer to justice, ensuring his legacy is one of community building and not of a case left unsolved.
