Brian James Gilliam, a 42-year-old man from Gaffney, South Carolina, lost his life in what was described as a tragic hunting accident on March 28, 2015. At the time of his death, he was a self-employed roofer and was known by those close to him as a true outdoorsman. When he wasn't hunting or fishing, he could often be found working in his yard or tinkering with something.
He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family dearly.
He was born on November 18, 1972, in Grover to the late James Boyd “Sonny” and Sheila Green Gilliam. He is survived by a daughter, a son, two step-daughters, and several grandchildren, as well as a sister and two brothers. Services to celebrate his life were held on April 11, 2015, at his sister's home in Shelby.
