In the summer of 2016, a resident of Gadsden, South Carolina, 20-year-old Charles Hopkins, tragically lost his life in a violent encounter. On the afternoon of July 16th, deputies from the Richland County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 2400 block of South Cedar Creek Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Hopkins suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was rushed to Palmetto Health Richland, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
