In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Gadsden, South Carolina, a dispute escalated into deadly violence, claiming the life of 31-year-old Richard Lamar Patterson. On May 5, 2019, at approximately 1:30 a.m., deputies from the Richland County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the 7900 block of Bluff Road following reports of a fight.
