On a summer evening in Lake City, South Carolina, the life of 20-year-old Devonte Hicks was tragically cut short. On July 2, 2017, Hicks was shot on Salters Street. Following the shooting, he was driven towards Main Street where an ambulance was flagged down for assistance. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Hicks succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
